Latex Allergy Mattress
Question
I suffer from terrible skin irritation and watery eyes and I’m pretty
certain it is because of my mattress.I think I may have a latex allergy. Is
this possible?
Answer
Yes, it is possible. If you haven’t been tested for latex allergies,
we recommend consulting with your physician or healthcare provider and consider
being tested for latex allergies. Mattress manufacturers are using latex
more and more as a “topper layer” in traditional innerspring mattresses
and you will see it being used more as a replacement to innersprings as the
mattress’s “core”.
Unfortunately allergy sufferers have not been able to take advantage of this new trend because of the latex and the allergies it can cause to millions of people like them every day. There is a solution however.Vytex® Natural Rubber Latex (NRL) is an eco-friendly, advanced latex material with virtually undetectable levels of the antigenic proteins that can lead to latex allergies. This development can help those who suffer from allergies caused by contact with latex products such as that found in mattress toppers.
For more information on allergies, visit the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology website. For further information on Vytex NRL and the role the company is playing in helping those that have a mattress allergy, or to find products made with Vytex NRL. We also recommend looking for the “Vytex® NRL” logo for a better latex with significantly reduced antigenic protein levels.
