Vytex® Natural Rubber Latex (NRL) is a revolutionary new raw material that establishes a new standard of natural rubber latex that has ultra low levels of total and antigenic protein.
Prior to the introduction of Vytex NRL, efforts to meet the demand for better latex products involved versions of NRL or synthetic substitutes for NRL, such as such as neoprene, nitrile, PVC, polyisoprene and polyurethane.
These synthetic substitutes lack many of NRL’s desirable benefits and exhibit lower elasticity, barrier protection, tensile strength, modulus and tactile sensitivity. Additionally, many synthetic materials create environmental hazards in their production and disposal and utilize known carcinogenic chemicals including phthalates, typically found in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to achieve flexibility.
Vytex NRL is produced through a patented process using green chemistry that significantly reduces the antigenic proteins in liquid latex. Because of this unique process, Vytex NRL is a much more stable latex compound compared to regular natural rubber latex. Also, because the non-rubber impurities are removed, products made from Vytex NRL retain the positive attributes of natural rubber latex but without most of the allergy-causing proteins.
